About the host/co-host

Time to Change, Hjärnkoll and See Me are all national programmes focussed on ending mental health stigma and discrimination. Time to Change, See Me and Hjärnkoll are located in the voluntary sector / NGOs . These programmes work with key sectors (employment, education, media, health and social care) and with large numbers of people with lived experience who lead change. Social contact, social marketing, training and engagementare approaches are used by the programmes.

This match will address;
– Integrating anti-stigma strategies to mental health and wider public health policies and strategies
– How anti-stigma activity can be integrated to broader approaches in health, social care, education and employment
-lived experience champions/ambassadors’ stories
– Understanding the evaluation and research strategies required to assess the effectiveness of anti-stigma programmes, and the evidence base that has already been built
– How lived experience can transform attitudes using social contact theory
– The benefits of improved profile and media coverage
– How investment in anti-stigma can transform prevention and health promotion amnd contribute to help seeking
-Examples of short presentation films and discussion about how people with mental ill health are produced in the media and culture
